6 Top Ways To Make Money From Home

Updated: Apr 10

When I first had my daughter, the only thing I wanted was to be home with her, but it didn't always work out to be that way.

In fact I wasn't able to be a stay at home mom (SAHM) until after my second daughter was born and it kind of happened out of needing to stay home because the morning sickness was so bad.

This was me at work... and I worked at a library with classes coming in and out, so it wasn't easy to run to the bathroom at a moment's notice.

So I decided to quit that job and work solely on my side hustle business that I work around taking care of my beautiful girls.

While I have been working my side hustle business for years now, I have also always been on the lookout for other ways to make a little extra money while at home or even earn cash back, which is what some of these that we will discuss are.

So let's dive in, I have 7 options of how to earn a little extra cash or cash back while being a stay at home mom.

This post may contain affiliate links to products that I know and love. This means that if you make a purchase using the links below I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you for the support!

7) Phone Apps :

This is where you will find some great apps for getting cash back just for doing your grocery shopping.

My favorite has been to use an app called Ibotta because you can invite others to join you and you can work together to earn cash back.

The cash back can be redeemed to gift cards to a place of your choice (they have a lot of options) or even just as cash to your PayPal.

It's pretty sweet, I have linked my account, so I hope to see your name come through as a new connection.

Some other apps are gaming apps for earning some extra money.

So these are a little tricky, you actually have to put money in to earn money after you play.

After playing games like Pocket7Games, Words Luck, Dice Royale, Blackout Blitz, or Diamond Strike; they get you in by giving you bonus cash right away, but then you don't get anything else again.

The other downside of these are the Ads, which is where they get the cash to be able to pay you bonus money.

So not my favorite, but it is an option to check out.

6) A Garage Sell:

With the world being connected as it is through the internet, you actually don't have to have just a garage/yard sell to sell your stuff.

You can now simply list and sell your stuff using Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Craigslist, KSL (which Utah's version of Craigslist), and so many more.

I know my sister have both been able to sell their workout clothes like Athleta or LuLu Lemon leggings, sports bras, and such for a fairly good price.

So if you are truly desperate for some extra cash, go through your closet, see if you really need that extra TV, or couch and list it is on these sites to earn some money.

Now I will give you fair warning, you put your stuff out there, you will get scammers, so just be careful and be honest with your listings, otherwise you might get banned from sites like Facebook or Ebay.

5) Affiliate Marketing

This is definitely more of a committed option for those that have an entrepreneurial mind and want to have a business to run.

So maybe you have that entrepreneurial spirit, but you're not even sure where to start with your own business, these two sights allow you to sell other peoples products and services and earn a commision.

Sites like: Amazon, ClickBank, ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, Impact, to just name a few.

However, many of these require that you have a website to be able to sell or the products and services to people to get a commission. Number 2 covers starting a website and how.

ClickBank, however you can do it with just a Facebook Page, but their suggested way of promoting and selling the products and services is through running Facebook Ads and using ClickFunnels pages as an in-between from your Facebook Ad to the sales page and then you get a commission.

If I totally lost you there, you may not be ready for that option.

4) Investing in Stock

This option is definitly for those that already have savings and is the best way to have your money work for you.

Robery Kiyosaki and T Harve Eker discuss this option in their books:

The whole idea around investing is to make your money work for you.

Just keeping in your savings account is not actually making you money.

However, investing is not for everyone, if the idea scares you because you could loose a lot money, I would search out a money manager.

I have used Global View Capital and would highly recommend them if you have money to invest.

3) Contract Work

What is contract work? Also known as freelance work.

As businesses grow, it becomes necessary for them to hire people to do tasks that the CEO or boss of a company may not want to do anymore or are not willing to put in the time it takes to learn that skill.

So they head to sites like Upwork, Fiverr, or Freelancer

So if you have a skill that you can offer to sell online like creating websites, writing blog posts, writing emails, and any kind of digital content you can then get paid for doing what you are really good at.

2) Starting your own Blog

We are getting down to the last few...

Why should you start your own blog or website?

Let me ask you this.

Who would you rather buy from, someone that you know and like and trust, or someone you don't know because you have never seen their face or gotten an idea of who they are from reading a blog post, like this one?

As a network marketer myself, I have learned that we like to buy things, but usually only after we have gotten to know the person we are from as someone that we know we can trust, right?

I know for me, whenever I go looking for something, I will first turn to Google, then find a review (usually posted on a website or blog post), if I found it to be helpful, I will usually follow what it says or buy what they suggest.

It does take a bit more effort to create content, but it is a long term process that will continue to be found as long as it is relevant to the searches.

So which would you rather, create content daily with it being irrelevant like on Facebook, or create a piece of content once a week and it will continue to be found and researched for a few months to years.

Now that I have explained why I think you should start a website, let's cover where to even create a website.

Many people like Wordpress, but having gone through that website building myself, I have found it to be difficult to use and add any kind of adjustments as my business expanded and grew.

That was until I found Wix to set up my own website and blog.

So if you have used Wordpress or any other website, you might want to give Wix a look for building your website out.

Now for the last and my favorite way to earn an extra income while at home.

1) A Side Hustle or Network Marketing Business

Why is this my favorite?

To quote Ray Higdon, it the lowest cost and highest reward for the amount that you invest.

Now not all network marketing companies are created equal.

I have actually done my fair share of going from one company to another until I found my passion.

Of course it's possible that my passion may change or evolve as the years go by, but that's life.

And here's the deal, I am looking to add qualified individuals to my team that are looking to use all the tips and tricks that I have used to build a successful business.

If you are someone that is looking for not only a way to earn extra income at home, but also a community of support and love that will help you push you to reach your goals and keep you accountable and access to an amazingly simple and proven system used by busy moms, working moms, and entrepreneurs alike.

Go ahead and take a look and I look forward to chatting with you soon.

Wishing you the best,

Sarah Lawyer
